Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Stopover (“we”, “us”) covering the website at this address and everything it does. Using the site means you accept them. If you do not, do not use the site.

1. What Stopover is, and what it is not

Stopover is a search and planning tool. You give it the cities you want and a date window; it works out the best order to fly them on the balance of fare and travel time you asked for, then looks for long layovers that give you an extra city for nothing, two-ticket combinations through a hub, cheap add-on destinations from where you already are, and several ways home.

What it is not:

• Not a travel agency, tour operator or airline. We are not licensed to sell travel and we do not try to.
• Not a seller of tickets. Every booking button on this site is a deep link that hands you to Google Flights, Skyscanner, Kiwi.com, Aviasales, Rome2Rio for a train, bus or ferry leg, or the airline itself. Whatever you buy, you buy from them, under their terms, with their customer service.
• Not holding anything. A plan is a document, not a reservation. Nothing on this site puts a seat, a fare or a price on hold.

We take no payment for travel and never see your card details: a pass (section 2) is paid for on Stripe’s own page. There is no money between us and any airline for the routes we recommend, and no source pays to be ranked higher.

2. Accounts and what an account gets you

You can plan 3 trips a day from one address without an account. That plan is priced from our free sources and from fares already in the cache, rather than a paid check of every leg, it belongs to nobody, and the page says so. Everything else, including live prices, keeping a plan, re-planning it and the chat, needs an account. Accounts run on Supabase Auth: an email address plus either a password or a one-time magic link. You are responsible for keeping access to that inbox and that password, and for everything done through your account.

• Each account gets 2 free trips. A new trip started from the form spends one.
• Re-planning a trip you already have is free. The chat, the customizer and the cheaper-day buttons never cost you a trip while it stays the same trip: the same home airport and at least half the cities it had when you first planned it. A change past that is a new trip, and the chat asks before it starts one.
• You may have 2 plans running at once. Start a third and it will be refused until one finishes.
• Rate limits apply on top of that (plans per hour, live searches per day) to keep one account from spending everyone’s search budget.

Those numbers are the defaults today and we may change them or raise an individual allowance. We will not silently take away a plan you have already generated.

The 30-day pass

• A pass costs $8.99, charged once when you buy it, through Stripe. It lasts 30 days from the moment the payment goes through. It does not renew and there is nothing to cancel. Buy another while one is running and the new days start when the current ones end.
• While it runs, your account may start as many new trips as it likes, each plan may search up to 200 live fares instead of 50, you may have 3 plans running at once, and we email you when a trip you planned gets cheaper. The rate limits above still apply.
• It belongs to the account that bought it. It covers every trip that account plans in its 30 days, whatever the number of travelers.
• Plans you made with a pass stay yours when it ends, and so do your free trips if you had any left.

One person per account. Do not share credentials, resell access, or run the site from a script.

3. Prices, caching and how wrong they can be

Fares are not ours. They come from Google Flights, Kiwi.com, Ryanair’s fare grid and Travelpayouts’ cached data. They move constantly. We label every number so you know what you are looking at:

• Verified: we searched that exact leg, for those dates and that number of passengers, during this plan.
• Cached: a real fare we or a source saw recently. A fare we searched live is cached for up to 12 hours; one that came from a source of already-cached fares is held for up to 24, and that source’s own copy may be older still.
• Estimate: a modelled figure (route averages, distance, the ground-transport table). Treat it as a shape, not a price.

Even a verified fare can be gone before you finish reading the page. Seats sell, currencies move, and the total you are shown may not include checked bags, seat selection, payment-method fees, or taxes a seller adds at the end. Bag-fee figures on this site are estimates from published airline tables.

4. Hidden-city fares

A hidden-city (“skiplagging”) fare is a ticket from A to C via B that costs less than the ticket from A to B, where you get off at B and abandon the last flight. We show these when we find them because they are interesting and sometimes large. We show them separately, we label them, and they are never counted in a plan’s total.

The rules we print alongside every one of these are the conditions under which the trick works at all:

• One-way tickets only. Never on any leg of a round trip, and never on the outbound of one.
• Carry-on only. Checked bags go to the ticketed destination, not to you.
• No frequent-flyer number on the booking.
• Nothing else on the same booking or the same ticket, or it goes with the cancelled segment.
• International connections add immigration and visa problems that a domestic hop does not have.

If you choose to fly one, that is your decision and your risk. We are not a party to your ticket and cannot help you when an airline enforces its own rules.

5. Third-party sites, and affiliate links

Booking, checking and “see it live” buttons leave this site. Once you are on Google Flights, Skyscanner, Kiwi.com, Aviasales, Rome2Rio, Ryanair or an airline, their terms and privacy policies govern what happens, and we have no control over their prices, availability or conduct.

Some Aviasales links can carry a Travelpayouts affiliate marker identifying this site as the referrer. It is the same code for every visitor and says nothing about who you are. Whether or not a booking ever pays us a commission, two things hold: it does not change the price you pay, and it does not change which itinerary we recommend. Ranking is by total cost, and we would rather lose a commission than lose the reason anyone uses this.

6. Acceptable use

Do not:

• script the site, scrape its output, or generate plans automatically;
• work around the trip allowance, rate limits or sign-in, including by making accounts in bulk;
• resell, republish or white-label plans as your own product or service;
• use the site to attack, overload or probe it or the systems it queries;
• upload anything unlawful into the plan chat.

We may suspend or close an account that does any of this.

7. What you type

Your trip requests and anything you write in the plan chat stay yours. You give us the permission we need to run the service with them: to store them, to search fares with them, and to send what the model needs to our language-model provider. That last one happens on every plan, not only when you type a sentence: on any deployment configured with a model key, the written explanation of each plan comes from the model, out of a summary of the itinerary it chose: cities, dates, fares and traveler count. Your email, your account and your address are never part of it. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is sent, what is stored, and for how long.

8. Availability

This is early software with no service level agreement. Features can change or disappear. A plan can fail, come back thin, or stop early: sources throttle us, a search backend changes shape overnight, or the plan hits its time budget. When a plan cannot be finished we try to return what we have and say so rather than pretend.

9. No warranty

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that any price shown is available, accurate or bookable, that a route can be flown as described, that connections are legal or long enough for your bags and your passport, or that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Visas, transit visas, passport validity, vaccination rules and entry requirements are yours to check. The nationality you pick in the form is used only to tailor a handful of practical notes and to work out which rail pass you would be eligible to buy; it is not immigration advice, and we do not ask for a passport number.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost data, missed flights, missed connections, denied boarding, cancelled tickets, closed loyalty accounts, or any cost you incur acting on something this site showed you. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim and US$50.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

11. Ending it

You can stop using the site whenever you like, and you can delete your account yourself from your account page. It takes effect immediately and cannot be undone. If that fails, or you cannot sign in to reach it, email pathakansh10@gmail.com from the address on the account. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or shut the service down. If we shut it down we will give notice at this address and, where we can, time to export your plans.

12. Changes to these terms

We will update this page and change the “last updated” date at the top. If a change is material, we will email account holders before it takes effect. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new version.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Texas, and the courts of Texas have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.

14. All sales are final

A pass is not refundable, in full or in part, once it is paid for. It starts the moment the payment goes through, and at checkout you agree to that and accept that you give up any right to cancel. That includes a pass on an account we suspend or close under these terms, and a pass that is still running if the service shuts down. Nothing here takes away a right you have by law that cannot be given up.
